What with the Bolshoi popping into Covent Garden in July and the Russian Ballet Icons Gala at the Coliseum on March 10, London is already doing quite well this year for Russian ballet. However, just added to this jamboree is a lengthy visit from the revitalised Mikhailovsky Ballet to the Coliseum.

Not only are they bringing their own undoubted superstars Ivan Vasiliev, Natalia Osipova and Leonid Sarafanov but they’ve also invited Berlin State Opera Principal Polina Semionova and and former Mariinsky Principal Denis Matvienko to have a go as well.

The repertoire features Giselle, Don Quixote, Laurencia and some short works and a full-length by Artistic Director Nacho Duato. There’s a bit more information on the Mikhailovsky Ballet website and tickets for the season, which runs from 26 March until 7 April 2013, are now available on the eno website.
