Full of juice
Hot on the heels of the All Blacks conquering the world at Twickenham, New Zealand has sent another of its cultural exports over to the UK. The excellent Royal New Zealand Ballet (RNZB) are returning to these shores to tour for the first time since 2011 and are bringing a couple of different programmes with them.
Edinburgh, Wycombe and Canterbury will be lucky enough to see the classical gorgeousity that is Ethan Stiefel and Johan Kobborg’s Giselle while Leeds and the Royal Opera House in London find themselves with the joy of a more modern mixed bill called A Passing Cloud (which features no less than three European premieres amongst the work of Javier De Frutos, Andrew Simmons, Neil Ieremia and Andonis Foniadakis).
With a new artistic director at the helm in the shape of Francesco Ventriglia as well, these are exciting times for RNZB so it’s going to be very interesting to see how things are developing at the other end of the world.
RNZB’s UK tour runs until 21 November 2015 before they continue on to Italy. More information including dates, venues and access to tickets can be found on the RNZB website.
